Tom Dixon

I just love Tom Dixon's lights. They are stunning. Expensive, but so worth it. I dream of buying one and popping it in our kitchen. It would look a treat.

New house! Nearly

So so exciting. We have finally sold the flat and are in the process of buying a house. It's just too exciting. Finally I have a project so I can put my scrapbook to use.

The last year has been unbelievably stressful. Probably why I have totally neglected this blog.

But I'm back and I can report back on my new life in Peckham Rye. And in our new little house.

Fingers crossed it all goes to plan.

Midcentury.Modern Show

Headed off to the Midcentury.Modern Show yesterday at Lord's Cricket Road. It was nice to head off to North London. It made me realise that I rarely venture out of Central and South London. It looks and feels so different.

Thought the show was a little disappointing...only a little though. I guess I thought it was going to be so much bigger than it was. But it was great to see so many beautiful pieces of design in one room. Boyf and I spotted a stunning side board and pretty reasonable at £2350. No?

Here's boyf starting the day off with obligatory coffee and ham & cheese croissant treat.

And some fine pieces that I saw...

Beach ready

I want one of these Katherine Hamnett bags. I just can't seem to find it in blue...only black. Argh!

So perfect for impending beach holidays. Hurrah!

Nature is clever

I should have chopped this climber back a week ago but I'm just fascinated by how smart it is. I look at it every morning and wonder how it's managed to know how to weave it's way round this bar. Amazing. So, so, clever. Must snip it at some point though.

Poor poor basil plant

I am upset. I've looked after my basil plant for such a long time and I popped it outside to soak up some sun and forgot about it :( It rained and this is what is left. I think I'm going to have to repot and hope for the best.

Whitstable

Forgot to mention that boyf and I headed out to Whitstable over the Bank Holiday. We jumped on the train armed with paper, coffee and muffins and rattled off to the coast. I love the train. Although I utterly adore my car, it was so nice to sit, relax and take in the views. It's incredible how quickly you leave the city behind and see the beautiful greenery that is our countryside. Bliss.

Whitstable was divine. Not a massive amount to do there, but a walk along the beach, drinking cider and scoffing seafood was plenty for me! We ate at Whitstable Oyster Company. Recommendation. On the beach and it served great seafood as well as oysters from their own farm. And the decor was just lovely...checked tablecloths, beakers and lots of wood.
